A common chair we restore is the well-known Chippendale dining chair. On this occasion the customer had a set of 6. They came to us for a complete restore. This included, stripping off all the old fabric, knocking apart the frames and cleaning off all the old glue. We then Re glue and clamp the chair back together and leave for 24 hours to dry. Once the frame has its strength back, we give it a revive and fad of French polish. This doesn’t make the chair look new, but just gives it that bit of life it was lacking. We can then re-upholster the chair starting with the reseat followed by the fabric picked out by the customer.
